Access

What no website can book.

A beautiful room is easy enough to find. What's harder to arrange: a table held at a chef's counter with no seats left, a private hour inside a museum after the doors have closed, an introduction that turns a stranger into a host. This is less about booking a trip than about arranging entry — into rooms a search engine cannot open.

The Introduction

A name that opens a door most guests never see.

The Hour

Private time in a place that closes to everyone else.

The Table

The seat that was never actually available.

Where We Return

Destinations we return to — and why.

Wellness Retreats

Places that ask nothing of you.

Most of the people we travel with run lives that never fully switch off — calls that follow them onto the terrace, decisions waiting at the end of every holiday. A retreat done properly interrupts that.

And it is, more than anything, a joy: not a regimen, not a penance, but days in the care of people who have given their lives to this, in houses built to do nothing else. Seven that are worth the journey.

01Puglia, Italy

Borgo Egnazia

Local limestone, ancient olive groves, and a spa that treats happiness as a practice rather than a by-product. The whole wellbeing ecosystem is being shaped by Ian Bell — the hand behind the design and feel of the best resort-based wellness ecosystems in the world. Days that loosen you gently, from the first morning.

02AMAALA, Saudi Arabia

Jayasom

The Chiva-Som legacy, carried to the unspoiled shore of AMAALA's Triple Bay. Practitioners gathered from around the world tend to the body, the breath and the quiet mind across a 7,000 sq m sanctuary — its name means, simply, a place for the heart. You arrive carrying a great deal; you leave carrying less.

03Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Rio Perdido

A river warmed from below by a volcano, running through a private reserve of forest and canyon. Let the water hold you, let the warm volcanic mud take the weight off your shoulders, and let sleep find you in a bungalow with a soaking tub of its own.

04Greater Kruger, South Africa

Sashwa — River of Stars

Twelve tented suites beside the Olifants River, deep in the Greater Kruger. Slow safaris, daily yoga, a kitchen that is entirely plant-based — and the rare permission to simply let it be, somewhere between wild life and a quieter way of living. All profits support a local non-profit.

05Austria · Germany

Lanserhof

Wellbeing programmes delivered since 1984, when a medical spa opened in the Tyrolean village of Lans. Diagnostics first, then days written for one person alone — rest, nourishment, movement — a method that has since followed to Tegernsee and the island of Sylt. For anyone ready to be properly looked after.

06Kandy, Sri Lanka

Santani Wellness

Sri Lanka's first purpose-built wellness resort, high in the hills near Kandy and shaped by what it calls the Architecture of Silence. Ayurveda tailored to your dosha, a kitchen that follows the six tastes, and a stillness the mountains seem to lend. Come to be quiet.

07Kumaon, IndiaUpcoming

CGH Earth

Long a pioneer of responsible travel in India, and keeper of Kalari Kovilakom, a two-century-old palace for Ayurveda. CGH Earth now turns to the Himalaya with Prakriti Shakti Tanmatra in Almora, Kumaon — around twenty rooms looking out to the mountains, in the naturopathy-led spirit of Prakriti Shakti, its Kerala sister. Mountain air and an unhurried pace. Worth asking about early.

Our association with OceanHugs goes back to 2012, and since then it's been Amit designing all our holidays. He's like that local friend who knows the city inside-out — he seems to be a local of a hell lot of cities! From suggesting where to go, what flight to take, activities to plan, and especially the best hidden gems in hotels — Amit will guide you through all.

“

Amit and his team are so good. From our romantic journeys to our big family travels, he makes it so much fun — from the day we start discussing to the day we come back, sit together and remember the highlights of our trip.

I am a surgeon, fashion enthusiast and a yoga addict. Just like my hobbies, my travel demands are equally diverse. Amit brings out so much joy in little experiences, it is unbelievable. We love him.

In my busy schedule, I rarely find time to spend with my family. Vacations are our time together, and we only trust OceanHugs to manage it for us.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

What is Luxury Honeymoons by OceanHugs?

Luxury Honeymoons is the honeymoon and romantic-travel identity of OceanHugs — a travel house that has been designing journeys since 2008, long enough to have learned that the best trips are rarely the ones built from a template. The same team, the same standards, extended to honeymoons, romantic holidays, family vacations and wellness retreats.

Does OceanHugs only plan honeymoons?

No — "Luxury Honeymoons" is simply the name people tend to remember us by first. Under the OceanHugs house, the same planners design four kinds of journeys: honeymoons, romantic holidays, family vacations, and wellness holidays, all held to the same standard of the finest hotels, dining, experiences and shopping, whoever you're travelling with.

Does OceanHugs charge a planning fee?

Yes, and deliberately so. Before we design anything, we ask for a planning fee of ₹18,000 per person. It's non-refundable on its own — but it isn't really a separate cost either, since the full amount is adjusted against your final booking. In effect, you're not paying for advice you might not use; you're making a downpayment on a journey we haven't designed yet. It also does something quieter: it filters for travellers who are ready to plan seriously, on journeys where real design time is worth spending.

Which destinations does OceanHugs specialise in?

Honestly, the destination is rarely the point. We work across the Maldives, Seychelles, Santorini, Switzerland, Kyoto and Tokyo, African safari, New Zealand, French Polynesia, and Miami with Turks and Caicos — but naming them is really just geography. What we're actually designing is the sequence inside each day: which car is waiting, which butler already knows how you take your tea, which table is lit exactly as the sun goes down. We don't build bucket-list trips. A bucket list is a checklist to clear; what we build is closer to a feeling, engineered on purpose — food, transport, staff and surprise, all stitched together so nothing ever feels like it's being managed.

How does the OceanHugs planning process actually work?

Four steps, deliberately unglamorous: your story, you choose, we refine, we handle everything. We ask before we assume — most travel planning goes wrong at the first step, not the last, by proposing before it has actually listened.

Why doesn't OceanHugs publish fixed packages or prices online?

Because the best deal was never really the point. Two people can ask for "a week in the Maldives" and mean entirely different trips — a published package would have to average both of them into something neither one actually wanted. We'd rather have the conversation first, and quote second.
