When people ask me what travel means to me, my answer never changes: travel is about people. People from everywhere. The ones who leave an impression on us, and on our thinking — the good lot, the ones who live it happily and make everyone around them happy.

It might be catching up with the best lads, on different occasions in different countries. It might be an accidental meeting in a spa. It might be a ten-minute meeting that makes a whole place memorable.

That is what makes travel worth it: people who are a mix of their own unique experiences, and who are willing to have a conversation that will matter for a long time to come. Ian talking to me about spas and Einstein in the same breath. A friend working through the next steps of a career. Another out-of-the-ordinary individual sharing how relationships had shaped, so deeply, so many of their decisions.

Isn’t it a mystery, how open we are with strangers — but only if we are in the right place, and especially in the presence of the right energy?

If this sounds like you, tell us who you hope to meet along the way.
